Edie Freedman is a designer, photographer, writer, editor, and artist living in West Gloucester, Massachusetts. She has been making images since high school, and has gone from shooting Tri-X and Recording Film to non-silver processes and printmaking to color printing and now, digital photography and printing.
Edie studied photography, printmaking, and film at Harvard College, and went on to earn two Masters’ degrees in Fine Art Photography and Communication Design at Rochester Institute of Technology. She spent a few years teaching photography and design at RIT and Penn State University, and then left academia for the corporate world.
Edie was the Creative Director at O’Reilly Media for 32 years. These days, she shoots a lot of photographs with her iPhone 13 Pro and donates her marketing and web expertise to Hidden Pond Farm Equine Rescue, a non-profit horse rescue in Brentwood, NH.
